The Ultraspin© oil skimmers are designed to remove floating oil, fats or other floating material from tanks, sumps, pits. The oil skimmers are often used for oil spill cleanup or as part of an oil water separation system. This page shows some of our oil skimmers in use.

Train - Heavy Workshop

The picture shows an Ultraspin S1 model stainless steel oil skimmer operating in a waste water pit treating water from a train workshop and wash area in South Africa. This skimmer provides a feed to an Ultraspin Oily Water treatment system.

Coal Mine - Heavy Vehicle Workshop

The picture shows an Ultraspin S2 model oil skimmer operating in an effluent waste water pit treating water from a coal mine heavy vehicle workshop. This skimmer provides a feed to an Ultraspin ES15 system. The oil loading is high and contains new and used engine oils and some fuel.

Dairy Factory

The picture shows an Ultraspin S2 model oil skimmer operating in a dairy factory waste water pit. This skimmer provides the feed to an Ultraspin dairy wastewater effluent treatment system.

Mine Site

This photo shows two Ultraspin model S1 oil skimmers in an effluent water pit at a mine in South Africa. This system was installed by our South African representatives Procon. The pit collects oily water run-off from heavy mine vehicle re-fuelling and maintenance operations. This type of oil skimmer is also suited to the cleanup of small oil spills.

Cooling water

This photo shows an Ultraspin model S1 oil skimmer removing floating oil and oily wastewater from a cooling water recycling system. The model S1 skimmer comes standard with a trash screen with 25 mm openings. The trash screen helps prevent hose blockages.

Food Processing Plant

This picture shows an Ultraspin model S2 oil skimmer installed in a food processing plant. The oil skimmer floats on the surface of a main effluent collection tank. The liquid level in the tank can fluctuate by about 1 metre and this is accommodated because the skimmer is connected to a hose. The fats and oils in this effluent water can be solid during cold weather but the skimmer is still able to work effectively.
